New Investigators! (And many, many pictures!)

Thanks for finding housing for me! I trust you. :)
We got a new investigator this week! Yay!
Last week for P-Day we went to an island called... I don't remember. But it was so fun! The elders ran off to play in a field so we sisters found a trail that led straight through the middle of the island. We went jungle trecking! On an island! Up and over and through and under. Naturally, that was they day I forgot to wear bug spray. But it was so worth it! At the end it led to this beautiful cliff where the waves crashed up against the rocks. We sat there for a good while, took some pictures (naturally, I'm the photographer's daughter) and sat and talked. I never wanted to leave!
Other than that this week was, again, a lot of contacting. Because of upcoming changes and transitions in the mission Pres Simmons is encouraging us to try to contact in English, which actually has been working surprisingly well.
A dog almost bit me. Rats run rampid in this city at night. God asnwered our prayers to meet a family to teach last week! We'll meet them this week. :)
I got a uke, did I tell you that?
Pictures: We found monkeys picking through the trash; my average meal ( I think I'm allergic to squid??); I found a puppy running through the jungle!; and our fan club. :)
Haha, In church yesterday the lesson was on talents and when the teacher asked what some tallents were they all went off. Some of my favorite ones were googling recipes to feed missionaries and killing beawoks/monitor lizards. Talents come in many forms.
I love you! I hope I answered the questions you asked!

Play by Play

Okay, this week I'm just going to give a play by play.
SO
Tuesday:
We had district meeting! District meeting is always interesting, haha. We have a native district leader right now; and everyone in our district speaks Malay except the new Chinese sister; so half the meeting is in Malay and the other half is in English. Then we went contacting and met an old Chinese man herding his dogs and talked to him for a while about why there are so many Chinese in Malaysia. In case you were wondering, I still don't know the answer. We also made study journals for our investigators! Well, they aren't investigators any more, but they were at that time! Now their study journals for our Less-Actives. :)
Wednesday:
We taught our English class! Not to be confused with the English class at the church on Firdays, this one is at a Cheshire home. I don't know how to explain it. But this week my students weren't there so I helped sister Welling teach her class. Every time I teach English I realized how little English I really know, and how many weird rules and words we have. Coiffed? Does anyone use that word? I don't think so. We also met V and did his homework with him of reading scriptures on repentace. I loved it because his understanding of everything in the gospel has just flown up since he recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost! The promises are real. Also, one of my favorite members who is pretty LA, S, helped with the lesson and gave great insights. He also came to district conference on Sunday, which made my week!
Thursday, haha, Oh Thursday. Interesting things happened. But they're not important. We went to the hospital because Sister Cloward's back has been hurting really bad. They told her there's nothing wrong and that her friend sitting in the waiting room should give her back massages to make it better. I'm starting to wonder if this is my calling in life, massages. I keep having companions who need massages, neck, back; it's basically my mission calling now. Haha, I'm okay with it, though. They always ask if my Chiropractor dad taught me how, haha.
We also planned for the week. :)
Friday we went contacting in an apparently all Chinese area. Since when are there no actual Malaysians in Malaysia? I don't know, but I can't find any of them! And I don't speak Chinese! Haha, I should have listened to Tyler's lessons better before I left! Anyway, We only have half an investigator right now; and it's been really hard to meet with members, so we're getting really good at contacting. Actually, we are. It's actually my favorite part of missionary work now, next to actually teaching. Every time I get so nervous when I go to talk to someone - I never know how they're going to react! But then I get to talk to them, really talk to them; we talk about what they like, what they don't like, why they choose to believe in God, and the questions that they have about him. Then, my favorite part, we get to share about the Restoration and the BofM, where their question is answered! Then they're either really happy, really confused, or really upset, haha. And then it starts over again!
We also teach our actual English class on Fridays at the church. I like it because I get to play the hymns for a good half an hour while everyone comes in, and then do a whole bunch of random things to describe random words that I sometimes wonder if people actually use. Again, coiffed? Really? Then we walked home from the church with the elders. I really appreciate elders, they make it so easy to see the difference between a man who lives God's commandments and one who doesn't. It's a stark, stark, really, really, big, contrasting, definite difference!
Saturday:
I got interviews! My interview with Pres was great because I was telling him how I always have this person in my mind who I really want to become, but sometimes it's just so hard and change feels so slow! Which it is. But he told me that in his son's mission the mission president is giving them all the addiction recovery booklet, because,he says, "We all have addictions. For some it's laziness, for some it's making fun of others, for some it's another." I think that's so smart! And right. I've looked through it a little before, but I really want to get more into it.
We also contacted a lot. again. To a whole bunch of Chinese people. I still don't speak Chinese. My favorite is when they come to the door, look out, and say, "No one is home!" ....Really? hahaha
Sunday:
District conference! It was amazing! I understood all the talks, S was there, V was there... it was a beautiful day. After, stuff happened but I'm out of time. So now you know what my week basically looked like!
Also, dad, Thanks, that Singapore kid sent me a letter. With a bird. haha
That is all, prayers for people who are ready to accept and live the gospel and build the kingdom are appreciated. Love you!
I'm pray for your safety all the time, mom!

Mahu hujan! ("Love the rain!" - I think...)

Okay, fast email because my computer hasn't been working.
It's raining so much! I love it. :)
Good news, I'm still in KK! And Sister Cloward is still my comp. :) Today was transfers. haha
This week was weird, mostly because I was sick, so there wasn't a whole ton of missionary work this first half of the week besides lots of phone calls. But the miracle is that we had a great contacting experience yesterday. We had four lessons set up with four new investigators that all fell through, along with the backup plans (one of those days), so we went contacting in an area near the church. I wasn't so sure about it because it was a nicer area with a lot of Chinese people - and I don't speak Chinese. But as we started knocking on the doors we had three amazing contacts that were all about 20 minutes long. They were amazing! We were really focusing on knowing what their needs are and helping them see how that question could be answered through the Restored gospel and the Book of Mormon, which is something I've been studying this week. In PMG there's a section about the questions of the soul that shows how all of those are answered in the BofM. I love telling people about it! It's now the main way I tell people about the gospel because it makes it possible to apply the gospel directly to their needs. Have you ever wondered how believing in Jesus Christ can even help you? Well, we know a place you can find the answer. Anyway, I love teaching situations like that. I've noticed lately that my ability to teach not just to my understanding, but to theirs has increased so much over my mission. It changes a lot.

I haven't gotten the package yet, but no one has been to SG lately. I'll probably get it next month. :-/ Thanks for sending it! haha, I guess I'll get it right in time to go home! Oops!
Oh, I'm famous on FB! We were advertizing for English class one day when I guess someone took a picture of us, posted it on FB, and now half the people we meet on the street say "hey! Aren't you the ones with the English class?" Haha, It's really funny. Everyone knows us!
I... don't know what pictures made it this week. My computer wigged out. Maybe I'll tell you next week!
Tell Caleb B I say hi!
I'm so glad Ashley is willing to live with me! Whew! Relief. and Yay! I want pics of the boyfriend!

Haha, It's funny you end your email that we this week, mom. Because I was sick half the week it was so hard to focus! I'm so conflicted! I'm excited to go home, but I don't want to leave! That's okay, I still have a really long time on my mission. ...Right?
Haha, I also definitely had a going back to school dream a few weeks ago. I couldn't find any of my classes.
That's normal right?
Life is great! I ride a party bus home every night with a disco ball and bass so loud I feel it in my chest. Hahaha, It makes my day every time.
Dad, what does the iPhone 7 look like?? The picture makes me laugh, aaaaaand..... I love you a lot. :) Keep going with the bike!

I love you both! I'm excited to go to your seminary class whenever I'm in town!

The week of being the "silent supportive" one.

This week was amazing! I've been sick and so we've stayed in a little this week. I have no voice for half the week and it's just starting to come back! Now I have a nasty cough, but I'm hoping that will go away soon enough.
. BUT. The things we did were great!
Miracle for this week is Vincen's baptism! He was baptized and, boy, was he happy about it too! I feel like he is someone who really understands repentance and what he was promising. He was really excited to be baptised. He kept grabbing people and saying, "This is the church where I repented. This is the church where I became clean!" Haha, And as funny as it was, it's true. Watching his excitement grow to become clean helped me to understand the beauty and blessing of baptism. The gospel really just makes sense!
We also had a family history celebration party last week. It was so. cool. I was hoping more of my pictures would load, but I'll try again next week. It was all stories of people's ancestors fighting dragons (a true story, they swore by it), and dances from all their races, and singing! It was amazing.
I love you! Talk to you next week! Be safe!
