Miracles in Singapore!

Okay.... So this week Cameron came to church!!!! Again! She came to church for the first time last week, the next day came with her two brothers to FHE at a members house, we met with them on Saturday night to talk about enduring to the end, then when we asked her if she'd come to church the next day she enthusiasticly said "yes!" She had a great experience and got a lot more out of church spiritually this week and, added bonus, didn't feel as awkward being there. She then came to a dinner appointment to a member's house after church where the members (who were being awesome member missionaries in the first place by inviting another member to dinner with us) shared awesome testimonies of the Savior's love and the power of the Atonement in their lives. Then we asked who in their lives needed that same knowledge of the Savior's love and strength. Haha, Their answer was perfect: "everyone!" It was a great testimony builder for myself and for Cameron to get a bigger picture of why we meet with them and ask them to come to church. It's not about the baptism, it's about finding the greatest happiness in this life and the next! We had another investigator at church, Lysander, who had a great experience. He heard some great talks in sacrament meeting, and heard the choir sing (choirs and hymns are his favorite!) Afterwards he set up his own appointment to meet again this week! Miracles? I think so.
My faith was built from the miracles! At one point Sister Anderson and I were talking to these two tourist from Germany on the train and they were most defnitely NOT intersted.... but they were willing to buy us drinks. haha, Regardless of their lack of interest I felt like I should tell them about the plan of salvation. They laughed and turned around. No big deal. So we were getting off to switch to another train with hopefully more interested people when we saw an Indian man jump up from his seat run after us and say, "Sister Mackay! Sister MacKay! I heard you two talking in there, and while they weren't interested, I need to talk to you." He said he wasn't sure if God was there, but his fiance just found out she was very sick and might not live for more than a few years and that he was needed to hear what we had to say. It was an incredible experience.
Great news, I've really come to love Singapore! I can't wait to go back to East, but untill then I'm loving it here. :)
I...have a request! We challenged a family with a missionary to tell their missionary daughter about their missionary moments every week. Can you guys do that too? I know you have them and I'd love to hear them! It's like we're all doing the same thing!
Dad, Can I see a picture of you with your bike?? And I love the moving harry Potter picture! I have the coolest parents ever. :D
I love you so much!!! I'll try to get more pictures this week. :D
Tell nana I love her!

Miracles & Milk!

Oooooh my goodness.Okay, I'm here now! Sorry, I know last week was a cruddy email!
I can't believe you still have Laryngitis, mom! That's insane! How long has it been? You're never going to take your singing voice for granted, that's for sure. At least, that's what I always end up thinking after I lose my voice. I'll pray for you to get better!
I'm so glad you know how much you can help others when you go to church! I think that if less actives realized how much impact they can have in the lives of others then they would have a better understanding of their divine identity, their purpose in this life, and well, they'd probably come to church!
Sweet! I'm excited to get that package! Perfect timing, too, I just finished off my EFAs!
Pants are probably more for Malaysia. Haha, A few weeks ago a guy came from the government to inspect our appartment because there had been a "reported mosquito sighting!" Haha, They basically don't exsist here. Actually, they do because one ate me alive last night walking home. But I think we're getting more instruction for this all in a few weeks. I am for sure getting sun glasses, though! Dress pants sound SO uncomfortable to bike in! And hot. I think I'll just buy more muslim clothes! Start wearing my Hijab while I'm at it.
Yeah! Start planning something. Soooo who all is coming? Do I need to plan anything? I don't know how this works. But, I'd check with Pres Richards first to see if I can be released over Skype, because otherwise I can't hold babies, or wear anything but prosolyting clothes, OR go swimming! And there are some prize beaches in Malaysia. ;) But, Okay, I'll be fine either way. :P I'm being picky. It's going to be a fast six months! But that's beside's the point. :)
I think I've finally gotten over my white culture shock! Whooo! They are still SO scary to talk to but I'm praying really hard to have the faith to share the gospel with them! Thank you so much for the prayers! I really do feel their effect in my life! Totally random though; you know I'm going to your seminary class every day for however long I can, right?
haha, Every Sunday a really nice ward member gives us a carton of California milk at church so we walk around for a few hours every Sunday contacting people, picking them up for church with a giant jug of sweating milk! The reactions are priceless.
Yesterday we had a huge miracle!! The 15 yr old daughter of one of our looooooong time inactives came to church yesterday!! We've been teaching the girl and her two teenage brothers and they've been progressing slowly, which is incredible because they have been taught for the past year or so with little to no progression. They weren't going to come to church yesterday but we talked the girl into going without 花儿brother是 Oh弄! What哈珀跑呢的??? hello? Oh, whew! I pressed something and the computor was translating everything into Chinese!! Anyway, everyone in the ward was so helpful and supportive! The young women were amazing at being her friend from the moment she came into the door and being completely real about it! Over all, she felt super uncomfortable and awkward, but at the same time had a lot of fun. AND tonight they're hopefully going to come over to a member's home for FHE! I love seeing them experience feeling the holy ghost and watching them get so excited about it! Why else would you feel so awkward about four hours of church and activity and then want to come back, again? Because you feel God's spirit there!
This last week we also met with a less active and her daughter who we'd met for the first time the week before. We had a fantastic discussion about faith and obedience. She taught me that faith is composed of two things; belief and action. But what if you have faith in that "God helps those who help themselves," aka, the actions you make, 不同农田他和荡dangi他 Someonedoes农田玩头么头testifytoday!!!Ireallywish I could write more 不同 i guess Satan is trying really hard today 头 keep someone from hearing 没有 testimony!  拿吗哈喽! Obedience brings faith! If you want faith, be obedient! That'sit!Igive 丿!!I           .*★*.

Why the Church

Today is going to be a short email. I have another stye in my eye today and didn't want to go to the zone activity with my eye all blown up, so my companion dropped my at the mission office and all I have to email on is a really old iPhone. My iPhone typing skills are a little rusty. Haha
This week was good, but slow. A lot of appointments ended up falling through, but it wasn't for lack of effort on our side! I ended up giving a talk in one of our wards yesterday. I think I might have actually made it to 15 minutes! My talk was on the gen con talk Why the Church. I had fun reading about it because something I run into a lot here are people saying that they believe in Jesus Christ but don't need a church to worship him, and this talk showed aaaaaall the reasons why we need church. I think one of the most important points is that without the Church we don't have access to the saving ordinances of the gospel!
Anyway. That's basically all. I'll write an email next week on an computer so that'll work better. I can't send pictures with this either. :P
Love you!

Happy Mother's Day!

I'm not going to lie, my favorite picture is definitely the one of dad passed out on the couch with the babies and my cat! It's a new classic.

Happy Mother's Day, mom! Thanks for spending part of it with me! It was a lot of fun. :) It felt like I just opened the door and walked into a normal night with our family! I loved it!

So we were Skyping at the Oomrigers house, and they're actually moving to Las Vegas this week and asked for your contact information because the husband wants to hire you to take some business shots of him. Anyway, because they're moving they actually gave us all of the food in their house! So we got bags and bags of food! Basically, whoever lives in this appartment next transfer won't ever need to grocery shop. We got to make ourselves a great dinner with ham, mashed potatoes, and salad. Basically a traditional MacKay dinner!
This week we stayed in for a few days this week as sister Anderson had some crazy vertigo from an ear infection so it was a little slow. Oh! And I forgot to tell you about my weird eye thing that happened last week! I guess I got a Stye or something and my eye hurt really bad and got reallly swollen! I looked like I'd had a stroke. But it's all better now! I'm not dead yet! In terms of investigators I don't have much to share besdies what I shared yesterday, we weren't able to meet with any of them this week.
BUT I did get Nutella from the Oomrigers. :D And fancy foods that make it way fun to cook!
I... am staying in Singapore with sister Anderson this transfer! That should be fun/ Hopefully, I'll be able to help her stay calm with her last transfer! Haha, with this being her last transfer it feels like my last transfer, too! ...Maybe my last transfer in Singapore...? We'll see. Maybe I'll have to make some special requests to get back to East. Pray for me to love white people! It's been a stressful transition to Singapore, but it's been nice having a great companion throughout it all.
My faith has definitely been growing on the topic of gaining perfection step by step and how the enabling power of the atonement plays a part in that. That's something that I'm really studying right now because I want to understand it! I want to understand that God sees and knows my imperfections and weaknesses and loves me, anyway! And then I want to get rid of them! haha, But I guess that part takes a while. Anyway, I'm just kind of excited for becoming my best self through the Atonement. I feel like it puts the Atonement in a new perspective for me, like a fresh way to apply it. It's keeping things spicy!
Also, I dropped my mascara wand in the toilet this week. It was really sad.
I love you a lot!

Stuff - With Pictures!

This week our miracle was a girl who called us wanting to meet and learn about the church. She's from the US but while she was in Philippines for school she started meeting the missionaries, but stopped because she had issues with the BofM. When we met her she said that she had been praying for her heart to be opened to the BofM and she now felt she was ready to accept it and learn more! We're so excited for her!
I think my faith has grown here and there, a little of everywhere this week, but one thing that I've been trying to focus on this transfer is rebuilding my testimony of Joseph Smith. Of course I believe that he's a prophet of God! But every time I teach the restoration the thought pops into my head, "that's a pretty big claim. Do you believe it?" And then I have to sit and think about it for a bit and say, Yes, I do believe it! But I want that belief to be stronger to the point where I don't have to ask if I believe it, because I know that I believe it. That's something that I'm progressively working on. One of my favorite experiences with that is when S Anderson and our investigator were roleplaying the restoration to me and at the end of the lesson they asked me to pray about whether Joseph Smith was a prophet. So I (the investigator) knelt down, prayed, and sincerely asked God if Joseph Smith was a prophet. As I prayed I felt the spirit strongly confirm to me that he was and is. I know that no matter how many times we ask Heavenly Father that if we're praying with sincerity He will answer us. :)
As for working with members, we've been encouraging members to invite friends to our dinner appointments. It's going great! Some invite other ward members, others invite less actives, and a few have invited non members. It's great!

We had a fun experience this week while we were on our way to teach a potential investigator. We were about to board a train when we heard "Hi sisters! SISTERS!" and saw a gaggle of BYU grad students getting off the opposite train! Turns out they were there for a study abroad and when they tried to buy us some dinner we asked them to help with our lesson instead. haha, They said yes! The four of them followed us to McDonalds where we stood outside and talked about who God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are and why we need them.
I'm trying to think of what else I have pictures of....
Oh! I just think this is funny. We had our correlation with our ward mission leader this week at possibly the nicest place I've ever stepped foot into. ...Hence the weird pictures at the super fancy place. But that's not important... Have I ever mentioned how uncomfortable nice things make me feel?? I guess now is my time to get over that! Haha But again, not important.
I also added some pictures that I stole from sister Anderson's camera! If you look at it through the Photos tab on dropbox you can see them in the right context of time and place. :)
I love you lots! I'm excited to talk to my hecka awesome family this week! (Don't tell anyone I used slang! It's against the white handbook!)
Talk to you next week!

P.S. I'm really, really glad Ty and Imari have a bathroom now!
P.P.S I'm really glad Augie is happy again!
